Eat, drink and be scary
Waya
Not many people expect a Christmas theme straight out of a horror movie for a costume. Then again few shifters could pull off the Krampus look either. Long elk horns reaching for the sky; the hooded coat, a dirty and deep red like a twisted perversion of Santa’s that stank of decaying flesh hid her face but some if they got close could still make out the features. Eyes; weird, inhuman grey eyes sunken in as though they did not belong to the face - a mask, a gaping, drooping mask of torn stinking hide over a black muzzle.
All in all a rather well done costume if Waya did say so herself. She barely had gotten Ahnah to agree to help her put it together in the first place. For it was truly a nightmare inducing costume. And probably the last time they would sit down and watch some horror flicks.
The most expensive thing was the cloak, as it had cost her a month's worth of hides, and was too bright red at first. A few weeks buried with a rotting hare and well she got

“Come on!” Heifer shouted, an expression of disbelief etched on her face. Almost's expression remained serious, however, showing the enormous dire she was not joking. “Seriously?” Heifer asked, hoping the sphinx Toki was just messing with her. Almost nodded solemnly, wondering why her pack mate had such a hard time grasping the information she had been provided. “Fishing?” The dire asked again, still under the assumption the Tokis were just messing with her. “For the last time, Heifer, yes.” Asungaq chimed in, a frustrated frown spread across her muzzle. "Woah, jeez, calm down." Heifer replied in feigned innocence, her rage pout turning into an arrogant smirk once Almost had turned away. "Bitch." The piebald Toki muttered under her breath, letting out a low growl to express her disdain towards Heifer. "Jerk." Heifer retorted -a little too loud, judging by the way Almost snapped her head to look at the dire-. "Just once, can you two behave

Asungaq and Cassapi turned to look at each other, smiling softly. "Where is that tosser?" The piebald Toki asked out loud, looking around. "I would advise you to choose your words more carefully, Asungaq." The seal male spoke up, letting out a low growl afterward. "My sincerest apologies, Buckaroo. Have I hurt your feelings?" The Toki inquired, turning to face Bucky. The seal male towered over Asungaq but she still felt the need to be incredibly sarcastic, knowing that he wasn't allowed to harm her and even if he did, the half mane would defend her with fierceness. Now that she thought about it, a fight between the two would most definitely be interesting. Bucky took a deep breath and shut his eyes in an attempt to calm himself down, his orders being clear.
The male opened his eyes, looked up to the sky and saw that the first rays of sunlight began peaking th

Continuity error
The metal bowls rattled as kibble fell in them, the brown pellets emitting an earthy odour which appealed as little to the Tokotas as it did to their handler. The yeti dire raised an eyebrow, averting her gaze from her plate to the man beside her, a disbelieving expression on her face. Asungaq on the other hand, was far less subtle. The piebald Toki curled her lips, baring her pearly white teeth while she growled at his, a deep rumbling sound coming from her throat. The brunet furrowed his eyebrows and tilted his head, confused as to why they disliked the food he had provided. "I do not understand. I was assured that Tokotas eat this. Have I done something wrong?" He voiced his concerns, intently moving his eyes between the three Tokotas. "Poor guy." Almost muttered to herself, watching the man with a sympathetic expression. "Maybe we should give him a break." Heff whispered in the Toki's ear, slowly raising her upper body once she was done. "Are you kidding me? How long has it been si

Really? Seriously though?
The three females approached the barn hesitantly, the blaring music and awful scents the wooden building emitted had the Tokotas wishing they could be as far away as possible but the job had to get done. Heifer pushed the door open, her enormous size a distinct advantage in situations like this. The hinges creaked as Heff kept pushing, tiny pieces of rusted metal falling down every few seconds. Even though the scent was only growing more and more potent, the music stopped, providing at least some relief now that the assault to the Tokotas' ears had stopped. Everyone froze in their spot, ceasing whatever action they were doing before the door opened. The only human who moved was a chubby man, clad in an expensive suit which Almost deduced was fresh out of the dry cleaner's.
He shot the females an arrogant smirk, approaching them with swift strides. Asungaq didn't fail to notice how he limped and neither did Heifer or Almost. "For a hairless ape with a damaged leg, he sure walks fast." T

"Another hunt?" The yeti dire exclaimed with a bright smile, her eyes shining with joy. Heff's tail was wagging furiously, the one sign of excitement the enormous female could afford due to the small size of the cave she and Almost were in. The Toki opened her mouth to speak but Heifer cut her, asking whether the Tokotas they had met a few days ago would be joining them. "Taleesha is busy." The Toki stated bluntly, a serious expression on her face. The dire female pursed her lips together, a pout forming on her face to express just how disgruntled she was. But Almost's face lit up almost immediately and that was when Heff realised she had fallen victim to yet another of the Toki's pranks. "Qimmiq will be joining us!" Almost declared gleefully, waving her small tail from side to side. The dire smiled widely and began bouncing around, barking like she had just received the best news of her life. "Always so easy to please." The Toki muttered with a smile, Heff too caug

I want to bear free
The three Tokotas were trotting alongside each other, journeying through the tundra with a brisk pace. A soothing silence had long set in, the only noise being the Tokotas' footsteps. No one seemed to oblige, perhaps preferring the quiet over meaningless chatter. 'Share something of importance or do not share anything at all' seemed to be the motto of the day. But nothing is ever as simple as it appears to be and this was no exception. The piebald dire remained agitated still, her mind plagued by questions she could not answer. Almost had already come close to discovering her secret once and Heifer was not about to let another mishap expose her. But she felt like the silence would betray her, inevitably, the Toki would find out. 'You cannot hide the truth forever' she told herself, a troubled sigh escaping her lips. The group came to a halt, Taleesha and Almost turned their heads in unison, eyeing the dire with curiosity. "Is there something that's troubling you, darling?" The vitiligo

Bohemian Rhapsody
The yeti dire was practically bouncing with enthusiasm, wagging her bushy tail like a maniac. Heifer was beyond excited and it even a blind man could tell. The massive Tokota was jumping around and barking like an overeager puppy that left destruction in her wake due to her enormous size. The sphinx Toki was staring wide-eyed, remaining relatively still as she followed the piebald female with her eyes, watching her wreak havoc to the shrubs that grew in the area. "We can depart whenever you are ready, Heifer." Almost chimed in, sarcastic undertones hidden underneath her authoritative tone of voice. Heff froze still, her eyes widening and the smile on her muzzle growing until her expression could not be described as anything but comical. The dire female nodded repeatedly, most likely assuring herself that she and Almost where going on a trip rather than telling Almost she was ready to go. "I want a solid answer." Almost stated bluntly, a small smile creeping up her face as she observed

Faith
The Tokotas slowed down their pace, catching their breath after the run in the Californian heat. "Here we are fellas." Richard said in a faintly amused tone, once again tightening her grip on Grace's reins. She wasn't entirely comfortable working with Grace and truth be told, most officers disliked working with her. The tawny piebald is a headstrong Tokota, quite whimsical as well. She's not easy to keep under control, she does not like children, other animals, actually, she barely likes anyone. Richard shifted her gaze to the sign ahead of them as she brought a hand up to her forehead, squinting due to the copious amount of sunlight hitting her eyes. Even with the shade her palm provided, she still couldn't keep her eyes fully open, letting out an exasperated sigh as she manoeuvered the tawny female, 'parking' Grace to the side before she rolled down the female's back.
"You might need some shades until you get used to the sun, there cher." A middle-aged brunet called out, waving at he

The petite ginger jolted awake, suspiciously looking around the dim room. Richard sat up on the bed, reaching under her pillow for the gun she kept underneath it, patting the mattress as her fingers searched for it. Her gaze was focused nowhere in particular, the room being too dark for her to see. "Where is it?" She questioned herself, her voice a little louder than she had intended to speak. Weight on the bed shifted and Richard's eyes widened, her breathing ragged, heart loudly thumping against her chest. She pushed the covers aside in fear and rose from the bed, stumbling backwards until she found the wall, leaning heavily against it as she ran all possible scenarios through her head. A sharp pain shot through her body originating from her left foot and Richard felt a warm liquid pool around her toes, trickling down the underside of her foot. But all of a sudden, the blinds were opened and Richard looked like a deer caught in the headlights, standing near the window with a puddle o

Heat of the moment - Deer hunting
Tana
Iris snuck closer, tightly followed by Aluaq. Of the two she was the more experienced one. The two buck didn't seem to notice, too absorbed with the season, the scent of willing does and of eachother. There was not more room in their minds to think of something ‘trivial’ as lethal hunters. Tana knew well enough to let the tokotas do the hunt on their own. There was times when she went out to hunt without them, just so she wouldn't lose her aim. Many times she just set up dead targets. She knew some aimed for trees but just as the animals around them they were not the only living things. Many seemed to forget.
Many had forgotten. It was a thought that still came to her. Their mother was still alive, but her children was slowly choking her. They forgot about the respect, about the balance. The sickness of greed overtook the hearts of many. But there was always hope, shimmers of light in the dark. She could not give up.
She glanced at the other tokotas and then the

The vitiligo half mane mechanically lifted and lowered her legs to the ground, moving slowly. The female Tokota was loaded with pelts and she had to carry Tatu as well, so she wasn't very keen on running with all the added weight. Taleesha was trotting in a rather fast pace, however and the tall man was wondering why she hadn't complained so far. Winston and Django were following closely, the tundra dire trotting alongside Taleesha while the black Toki was a few meters behind the two. The Tokotas were eavesdropping on Tatu and Riley's conversation but no one cared to admit it, far too arrogant to recognise their fault. But it often comes with great intellect, pride.

Quiet footsteps echoed through the otherwise silent forest and all three turned to look towards the direction of the sound, Winston and Django on high alert. Riley could not be certain that it was Tatu and one of his Tokotas that were approaching and so she didn't order her Tokos to stand down, it was far better to play it safe from the beginning than to let your guard down and get screwed over. She knew it first hand. The footsteps were getting closer and the blonde unholstered her gun, pulling the slide back with a serious expression on her face, ready to take down whoever was foolish enough to mess with her. "Riley, it's Tatu! Don't shoot!" The man called out, the

Riley blinked softly, her face was moist with tears and saliva but she had gotten so used to the sensation over the past two years that it did not bother her at all. The blonde leaned to the side, wrapping her arms around the dire Tokota as she rested her upper body on Django's back. She closed her eyes and breathed in the tundra male's earthy scent, grabbing handfuls of fur in each hand as she pulled herself closer to him. Riley's heart was thumping steadily, her breathing had long evened out but the way she clung to Django like a lifeline surprised both the Toki and the dire. Winston laid there in awe, far too shocked he had been replaced so easily to react. They r

The blonde jolted awake and hastily sat up on the bed, scanning the room as she pushed her hand under her pillow, instinctively reaching for the gun underneath it. Her ragged breathing seemed to even out as she wrapped her fingers around the handle, sense of familiarity the cool metal provided bringing her at ease. Her free hand reached out to pull the blanket off her, throwing it aside before she rose to her feet, clutching the gun like her life depended on it. Riley looked around again, constantly assuring herself she was safe as she walked towards the window, her steps slow and deliberate. The woman pulled the slide back and released the safety before placing her

My life is a mess right now so I am taking a break from everything (by that I mean avoiding my responsibilities). I'm studying for midterm exams, I'm stressed as fuck and I just don't have time for the internet at this point. Hopefully everything will get sorted out quickly and I will resume my usual activity.
